done.

This picture has nothing to do with the post. I just like it.

We are moved. All last week I kept looking forward to Sunday, knowing that it would all be over then. I stayed home from work on Friday and we cleaned and packed and packed and cleaned. I got a monstrous headache at the end of the day and of course we had already packed up and moved the Excedrin. But this too shall pass, and now we are totally moved and even unpacked! It all ended with my rubbing Icy Hot on Sam's lower back. A fitting end to a crazy situation, which may have included some sneaking back to the old apartment late at night to see if a phone charger had been dropped and left. The sneaking was necessary because there were some... let's say "negotiations" as to the final deposit/rent amount. I felt like a criminal skulking around the house in the dark, quietly inching down the stairs, and easing open the door. Turns out the charger was in a bathroom cupboard in our new apartment all along. Whatever. It's over.

It took me six or seven hours to unpack everything it had taken both of us two weeks to pack. Why is this? The walls are still a blank canvas and I have a pile of home decor on the floor, but everything useful is put away. I was so inspired by all the organization and (temporary) cleanliness that I even made a chocolate souffle. It's baking, so we'll see if it turns out. Sam did supervise/do half of it so chances are higher. I find myself unable to cook anymore without his input even though it occasionally makes me mad. If you have a chef in your house, why not use him?

Anyway, we love our new apartment. There is so much space and it's so much cleaner and nicer and has higher ceilings and more windows and feels so luxurious. Our new ward is great. We've run the dishwasher like six times already.

(This is where I say, "When God closes a door, somewhere He opens a window.")

Wow, I can't believe you had to move. What is the ward going to be like without us? ha ha ha

I'm glad you're liking your new apartment. Good luck with all that.

AS IF the dishwasher is a fitting substitute for ... you know... ME! And the other people you like. Come back, right now. Or at least soon.

I keep seeing your picture in my "follow" feed on blogger and I just want you to know that I am a little bit in love with it. I think that is a quintessential Sam face and Krista laugh. Very adorable =)
