six months

Well six months it is. Let's see, Carter can sit up on his own for about 30 seconds to a minute, until he sees something he wants and dives for it. He rolls over both ways but only randomly. He has no idea he knows how to do it. He's eating solid foods (cereal, mashed fruits and veggies, etc.) which is so fun except at diaper changing time. His sleeping, oh his sleeping! It's up and down and has pretty much no rhyme or reason. This is the most stubborn kid i've ever met. I was finally ready to let him cry so we did a couple weeks ago. He cried off and on throughout the night but then the next three nights were heaven! Waking up only twice! Sleeping seven hour stretches! Then, with no change in our parental behavior, he reverted back and cries forever and wakes up five times per night. Since the crying alone in his crib had ceased motivating him anyway, we took a little break as we had some house guests and that would just be mean to them. We will be starting anew shortly. Perhaps third time's the charm? (You know, the no crying sleep training was one, the crying was two...) Regardless, I love this kid to death. He is the cutest thing I've ever seen in my entire life.
In other news, Sam and I just completed a month with no sugar and we are four weeks into a couch to 5k program. Hooray for healthiness!

A MONTH WITH NO SUGAR. The longest I've ever gone is a week and it was a zero-fun week. Your baby is super cute.
