The second trimester! Hooray for being 1/3 of the way done! I gave in and went shopping for maternity clothes this weekend (not that I'm wearing any above). My jeans were just not working anymore. However, maternity pants are so extremely comfortable I may never go back to regular ones again. Even if they are kind of ugly.

I think I might finally be pulling out of the morning sickness which is awesome. I never threw up the whole first trimester but I could count on feeling nauseated pretty much every day for most of the day. That's fine, the fact that I never threw up is worth any amount of sick feeling. I hate the act of vomiting more than anything in the world so I feel extremely lucky.

So far for the baby, we have purchased a crib sans mattress. That is it. My mother-in-law gave us a bag of children's books so there's that. Right now the crib and the bag of books are sitting on the floor of what will hopefully become the baby's bedroom. There will have to be some major reorganizational efforts to make room in there first, though. This is why we have not purchased baby things, I think. There is nowhere to put it.

In other news since I've been on hiatus, I got in a car accident that totaled our one and only car. I was fine, but the car is gone. Sam's parents gave us their old minivan, which was extremely generous of them. We are using the check from our old car to buoy up our sadly lacking savings and will be driving around a minivan for the next few years. I suppose it is fitting. Also from this situation, we learned that writing a complaint letter to an insurance company produces awesome results, we spent our first nights apart since getting married (as he flew to California to pick up the van), and we discovered that an entire colony of ants can and will live peacefully in a car that is not driven for awhile and upon disturbance, will relocate the entire colony from the engine area to the backseat with no trouble whatsoever. It was gross, but luckily pregnant women should not be exposed to bug killing spray so Sam had the job of fumigating the car. A good man, he is.

Oh my goodness, you are SOOO beautiful! Pregnancy becomes you.

And that's awful about the ants. I wouldn't have thought my mom would take a practical joke that far . . .

Good grief Krista! You look radiant! That baby bump is just as cute as can be! Love these updates! So thankful the car was the only thing "hurt" in the car accident!!

Minivan=Mormon family. It was inevitable. Also, babies don't need much stuff or much but you'll have to find a new home for your lovely etsy creations for their protection.

I meant "much stuff or much space"
